Why Newcastle suits custom abstract art
Newcastle's harbourside revitalisation has brought a wave of new apartments, hotels and commercial fitouts, and the art going into these spaces is increasingly expected to match the quality of the architecture rather than trail behind it.
Custom abstract art painted to a curator's or designer's brief removes the compromise of sourcing existing stock that happens to be available. The palette, scale and mood are agreed with the artist directly, before the work exists, so the finished piece is built for the specific wall in the specific Newcastle project rather than fitted into it after the fact.
The brief and palette process
A Newcastle commission starts the same way as any other -- wall dimensions, palette references drawn from the actual materials and lighting of the space, and your installation timeline. A palette and style proposal is developed and signed off before any canvas is started, so there is full clarity on direction ahead of production.
Pricing and delivery for Newcastle
Pricing starts from $3,500 AUD for a 100cm x 100cm original, professionally framed in a Tasmanian Oak frame. Delivery into Newcastle -- or anywhere else in the country -- is included at no additional cost, so there is no separate freight line to factor into a client quote.
Who this suits
Art curators and interior designers working on harbourside apartments, boutique hotels and commercial fitouts across Newcastle all brief the same way -- palette, scale, mood and deadline.
